Our next stop was about another five miles down the road in the little town of Poulsbo, WA at the home of Brad and Karen Brown, owners of the very popular "Morgan Hill Llama Farm". BTW, Brad and Karen's barn is also spotlighted in our January '02 "Barn Showcase" feature.
We were all greeted warmly and Karen, AKA "The Llama Mama", immediately set about explaining the ins-and-outs of llama handling as she gently coaxed the llamas out of the barn. Stuff like, "Don't look 'em in the eye" and, "Don't jump around like a nut", etc. We were each handed a plastic bag of cut-up carrots and encouraged to interact!

Jen and "Hoser" look on as Jamie loses it and starts freakin' out a little.
....but, finally, everybody regained their composure and made friends with these curious and truly charming critters.
Everybody made it, even little Austin, with all ten digits still in tact!! Karen often entertains school and youth groups at the farm....she's got it all together!!
Karen says she really loves her barn....it gives her "kids" a nice place to get out of the chilly Poulsbo winter nights.
So, we presented to Karen Brown, AKA the "Llama Mama" the BarnPlans Worlds Best Llama Farm Owner Award and Good Luck Horseshoe Barn thingy!! (She's holdin' it but it must still smell like carrots!!)
